Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What should I expect?

ANSWER: At Venture Church you'll find a contemporary worship setting, with newer high-energy music mixed with a few of the best traditional hymns, all led by our praise band. You'll encounter friendly families, a relaxed environment, great kid's programs, and relevant messages designed to help you deal with real life issues.

These messages are given in everyday language and you'll be able to use what you learn each week. We want to help you pursue your personal spiritual journey at your own pace.

Question: What should I wear?

ANSWER: We don't care what you wear! We just want to get to know you. So, dress casually and you'll fit right in. We believe God is more concerned about your attitude than your appearance anyway, so leave the formal Sunday clothes in the closet and come prepared to enjoy the service. (If you like suits and dresses, some of us still wear them!)

Question: Do people come to Venture who are new to church or have not been in a while?

ANSWER: Yes - many. If you're new to all this, we are so excited to have you join us. This is a place where everyone is welcome. Come hang out with us, and take as much time as you need on this journey of discovering and connecting with God. Ask the hard questions. You'll find you can belong here even before you believe. And if you're an old, faithful Christian looking for a new church home, well, like we said … we're a good, simple Christian family.

Question: Will I have to speak, sing, or give money?

ANSWER: We promise not to embarrass you or put you on the spot! You won't have to stand up and give your name. You may participate in worship if you choose to, but there's no obligation. In fact, as a guest, you are encouraged not to give to the offering, but rather enjoy the service as our gift to you. We don't want your money. When it's time for the offering, our Venture families are given the opportunity to invest in the lives of everyone who walks through our doors. As our guests we want you to sit back, relax, and let your wallet relax, too.

Question: Is there something for my kids to do?

ANSWER: Absolutely! We know that your kids are looking for a place that rocks! And the last thing you want to be concerned about is whether or not your kids are safe while you are at church. We've invested a lot to make sure that both goals are reached. We have an exciting learning program at 9:00 am for kids of all ages, and some structured worship and play time for them while we worship starting at 10:00. You can get details and directions for both at our welcome center.

Question: Coffee?

ANSWER: We can't say it enough … we're a family. And families like to get together and chat over a cup of coffee and a sweet. (Well yes, we also have tea, juice, and some sugarless stuff.) We just want to have a good time, so we hope you will join us for Friends & Fellowship. Times vary per campus. Please check the appropriate service times page.
